Turkey occupies a unique geographical position as it is located on two continents: Asia and Europe. It is separated into seven regional areas.
Turkey is surrounded by the Aegean, Mediterranean, and Black Seas, thus possessing some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Due to its position, Turkey boasts three different climate zones, which vary by region, and in general experiences dry and hot summers and wet and cold winters. It has an extraordinary ecosystem and habitat diversity; the diversity of Turkey’s fauna is even greater than its already extensive flora.
The Republic of Turkey is a nation with a rich and antique history, as well as a robust culture, influenced by the Ottoman and Anatolian Empires, as well as Islamic, Christian, and western cultures.
